As the food business operator you have a ‘right to reply’ to you food hygiene rating.

This is so you can explain:

the subsequent actions you have taken to make the required improvements as detailed in the inspection report, or
mitigation for the circumstances at the time of the inspection.

It is not for making complaints or for criticising the scheme or food safety officer.

After you have submitted the form, a food safety officer will review your comments. They may edit them to remove offensive, defamatory or clearly inaccurate or irrelevant remarks.

Your comments will then be published together with your food hygiene rating at food.gov.uk/ratings
