Back to yoga is a beginner level class that will guide you through the stages of yoga poses and introduce you to the methods used to gain flexibility, build strength and learn to relax.   

We will provide mats for the class, but please feel free to bring your own if you have one.

This is a 60-minute class and is a low intensity session.

Body balance

Begin the class with Tai Chi to warm up, then flow into a mixture of Yoga and Pilates to stretch and strengthen the body and ease the mind. Round it all off with some relaxation to leave the class feeling refreshed.  

Don’t be fooled by the calm nature of this class, you will work hard, but you’ll feel great afterwards.

This session is run as either a 45-minute or 60-minute session. This class is a low intensity workout.

Tone

If toning your muscles is your goal,  Tone will do the job. You will use resistance bands, weighted balls and your own body weight to strengthen and tone your whole body. Tone will give you a great workout.

This is class lasts for 60 minutes and is a medium intensity session.

Vinyasa yoga

Vinyasa Yoga is a vigorous style of yoga which involves continually moving from one yoga pose to the next. This class has a real flow, and leaves you feeling rejuvenated and relaxed.  

Yoga can transform your body and mind, and improves circulation, strength and balance. 

Vinyasa Yoga is more challenging than normal yoga classes, so is great for more experienced exercisers.  

We will provide mats for the class, but please feel free to bring your own if you have one.

This is class lasts for 60 minutes and is a medium intensity session.

Yoga

Yoga is a great class for people of all ages, shapes and sizes. It can help transform your body and mind. It will improve strength, flexibility and posture, and relax and de-stress. 

You will hold various poses throughout the class, with an instructor helping you throughout, so if you are a complete beginner, you will still feel the benefits.

Our exercise classes are very popular, we advise booking in advance. 

You can:  

You can book onto classes: 

  • ten days in advance if you have a monthly membership  
  • seven days in advance if you have an ourChelmsford Plus card     
  • two days in advance if you have an ourChelmsford Lite card
  • You will need to book a session in advance to guarantee your space.
  • If you do not check-in, we will charge you the full amount for the session.
  • Please make sure that you have registered your email address with us in order to book online.
  • If you can't attend a class that you have booked onto, you must cancel at least two hours before it starts.
  • You can cancel online or via the app, by calling 01245 615050 or in person. 
  • We will charge you the full amount for the class if you do not cancel in time, or if you do not attend.
  • You will need to collect a ticket from reception when you arrive for your class.  
  • Monthly members can swipe through the barrier and register their attendance. 
  • You will not be allowed entrance to any class if it has already started.  
  • To allow time for changeovers, classes will finish five minutes before the advertised time.  
  • If you want to use a locker on poolside, you will need a £1 coin to release the key. You will get the £1 back when you return the key.   
  • There is a male group changing area and a female group changing area located on poolside. 
  • Accessible changing facilities are located on poolside.
  • The pools complex, including the changing area is a shoe-free zone, this includes the removal of flip flops.
