Travelling to work
By bus
You can claim a 25% discount on full price season tickets with First bus.
The discount applies to:
- Chelmsford and Essex area tickets
- weekly tickets
- monthly tickets
- three monthly tickets
- annual tickets
You can also buy a First bus 12-journey ticket. The tickets are:
- £16.00 for the Chelmsford area
- £24.50 for the Essex area
- valid for three months
Discounted tickets can be purchased from the Travel Centre on Duke Street, on buses and through the First Bus App. For further details please contact the Travel Team travelplan@chelmsford.gov.uk on your first day.
By train
You can claim a 25% discount on full price season tickets with Greater Anglia.
The discount applies to:
- tickets for travel from any Greater Anglia station to Chelmsford
- monthly season tickets
- quarterly season tickets
- six monthly season tickets
- annual season tickets
To buy your discounted season ticket, you will need to call Greater Anglia on 0345 600 7245.
By car
If you travel to work by car, you can request subsidised car parking.
Spaces currently cost £15 per month at Meadows Retail, which we deduct from your monthly salary.
You can request a subsidised car parking space.
You will not be able to use your subsidised parking space on your first day with us, so you will need to make alternative arrangements.
Once you have collected your barrier pass and windscreen disc, you will be able to use your subsidised parking space. Please note all subsidised car parking spaces are subject to availability.
