If you sell your taxi and licence to someone else, you must tell us within 14 days of the transfer.

It is an offence not to tell us and the licence number will belong to us. You can't separate the licence or vehicle, or transfer them on their own.

The current licence holder must notify us that they wish to transfer the licence.

The new owner must also notify us that they wish to transfer the licence into their name, and any other person with a proprietary interest.

Although the current licence holder may have agreed to sell the vehicle, the new owner will still need to meet our policy requirements and conditions.

We have the right to refuse to grant a licence based on our licensing policy. We can refer the matter to the Regulatory Committee, if appropriate.
