Mayor of Chelmsford
The Mayor of Chelmsford for 2022-23 is Councillor Sue Dobson and the Deputy Mayor is Councillor Bob Massey.
The Full Council appoints the Mayor and Deputy Mayor during the Annual Council Meeting in May.
The Mayor chairs Full Council meetings in a ceremonial role, and represents the council by supporting local events and charities.
The Mayor’s role is non-political and must remain independent. This means the Mayor is unable to get involved in any matters or complaints regarding council procedures.
