Ways to respond to the annual canvass
If we are unable to match your data and think your details have changed, we will send you a letter. You must respond to this.
You can respond in a number of different ways.
To respond online, you need to visit the household response update service.
There is also a link to this service on the first page of your canvass communication.
You will need to enter Part 1 and Part 2 of your security code from the first page of your canvass communication, as well as your postcode.
Then, you will need to confirm your address.
Confirming your name
If you see information about who lives at the address, you will need to confirm your name. You will then be able to see the details about who is registered at the address.
From here, you can confirm that everything is correct, or make changes to the information if you need to. You can also add new people to the address, or remove people that no longer live there.
Confirming who lives at the address
If you don't see information about who lives at the address, you will need to enter details about the people that live there.
You can only respond to the form by phone or text if:
- your canvass communication lists information about who lives at the address, and
- all of the information is correct, and you don't need to make any changes, and
- you don't need to add or remove people from the list
To confirm all of the information is correct, you can call 0800 884 0701. You will need to enter Part 1 and then Part 2 of your security code.
You can also confirm all of the information is correct texting NOCHANGE followed by Part 1 and Part 2 of your security code to 80212.
Information about how to respond by phone or text is also on the first page of your canvass communication.
If you can't respond online, or by phone or text, you can complete a paper form and return it to us.
If you receive this form, you need to add information about who lives at the address in section 1. You only need to complete section 2 if no one at the address is eligible to register to vote.
You then need to complete section 3, which is the declaration.
